The role will influence site safety initiatives and safety metric tracking across our vast array of construction facilities with the aim of expanding the Amazon network safely. This role is also expected to support safety programs and manage/support safety within GES projects in one of the following regions: UK/IR, SEU, MEU.

Aufgaben

The extent of your duties will include:

  • Lead field support for your region (UK/IR OR SEU OR MEU)
  • Support project managers in follow-up of serious incidents and near misses (Severity A&B only)
  • Liaise with the assurance and program teams and identify the need of standard amendments and new developments to capture the latest requirements and any lessons learnt as applicable based on the site visits.
  • Support creation of process documentation for Safety Management System
  • Visit sites of critical projects (based on volume, safety profile, challenging stakeholders, request from business leaders) at least twice in their lifecycle as per Safety Circles program- once before start of works, once before handover
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly safety performance reports as per turn.
  • Support ad-hoc requests for collation of weekly, monthly and quarterly business updates of KPI's.
  • Cascade changing regulations and industry trends that may influence the Safety program to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support construction and project managers establish and maintain effective work relationship with developers, general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct periodic safety meetings with regional stakeholders to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, improve training compliance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments and support contractor management (General Contractors, Technical Vendors)
  • Participate in Safety Leadership Gembas- at least one per quarter•Support and encourage attendance of Construction Managers/Project Managers of their active projects
  • Dive deep on the data trends every quarter and propose improvements for the next quarter

A day in the life
A day in the life of a Construction Health and Safety Manager is a dynamic mix of field support, incident follow-up, and stakeholder engagement. Using BOLT (Safety Management tool) to collate data on your region to observe trends and prepare mitigation plans to improve safety; the manager conducts critical project site visits. They actively support construction managers, participate in safety meetings, and analyze quarterly data trends to propose improvements. This role embodies a proactive commitment to ensuring safety excellence in construction projects across the designated region.


Profil
  • Engineering degree, occupational Health & Safety Management degree or experience in a similar role.
  • Comprehension and practical application of risk assessments.
  • Demonstrable record of managing construction safety across large multi-site businesses.
  • Experience interacting with cross functional teams.
  • Credibility and be able to effectively engage and influence other functional leaders and their teams, to build buy-in to EU Health and Safety strategies and change processes.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and other computer-based tools to support system engineering and briefing/proposal development activities.
  • Project management skills
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Solid English verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Experience interacting with cross functional teams and managing projects with minimal supervision
  • CMIOSH certification is preferred.
  • German, French, Polish, Arabic are considered preferred qualification
  • Country specific legal awareness, such as German, Italian, Spanish or French.
